Protein powders, how much and which one?

Let's talk protein powders! Ideally, protein derived from whole food sources is the best for us. However, sometimes that's not always possible, and that's where a good protein powder can be helpful. Protein helps to keep you feeling full, so when we're busy and on the go, a protein powder in a smoothie can be a good option.

But how much should you use? For majority of Strong Woman members, I would recommend 1 to 2 scoops per day (one smoothie). If you were training super hard for an event, or depending on your lifestyle, you could double this. But getting more than 80g (4 scoops approx per day) is excessive, and you should be looking at getting your protein from whole foods instead. Why? Because our food contains other valuable nutrients and minerals that our body needs. Filling up on too much protein powder, could mean we're not eating other forms of protein eg chicken, eggs, nuts & seeds, etc.

When choosing a protein powder, make sure you're choosing one that has minimal processed ingredients, and as close to a whole food as possible. We like Nuzest (you have a discount code in the members site) or Nothing Naughty protein powders. I hope you find this helpful. Sarah Xx
